How Runners Exercised on the Treadmill Can Achieve Better Exercise Effect

Treadmill speeds and inclines were used as control inputs for a pre-set heart rate command of 140 bpm. The runner 3 is a man, 18 years old, 65 kg weight, and 176 cm tall. The runner 4 is a man, 25 years old, 70 kg weight, and 174 cm tall. The run-
ner 5 is a man, 30 years old, 78 kg weight, and 182 cm tall. The runner 6 is a man, 33 years old, 68 kg weight, and 176 cm tall.Runners 3, 4, 5, and 6 exercised on the treadmill system using the proposed scheme or the PI control system, and heart rate
responses and corresponding treadmill speeds and inclines were recorded . In these experiments,heart rate responses of runners 3–6 had smaller fluctuations,and treadmill speeds and inclines were smoother with the proposed system than with the PI control system. When runners exercised on the treadmill system with smaller heart rate fluctuations, and smoother treadmill speeds and inclines, one can achieve larger oxygen consumption, better and safe exercise effect.
