Maximal Treadmill Aerobic Running Velocity Test

During the familiarisation session, the participants erformed an incremental treadmill level running exercise with a velocity beginning at 2.2 m.s -1 (8 km.h -1 ) for 2 min and then increasing by 0.13 m.s -1 (0.5 km.h -1 ) each min until exhaustion (as per methods described in Assadi & Lepers, 2012). Heart rate was recorded continuously during the test and HR max was determined as the highest HR value reached by each subject at the end of the test.
